Divine Treasures owner Chris Oberreuter shares how a longtime CPA prayerfully said yes to buying Des Moines' beloved Catholic bookstore and gift shop, and why he and his wife support Catholic radio as both listeners and business partners. Johnston High School teacher Ann Charlson recalls her Lutheran roots, a memorable visit to the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend, and how Catholic radio now challenges her to go deeper in Scripture. Hosted by Deacon Mark Campbell during The Harvest Is Abundant Fall Fundraiser, this hour invites you to become a $25-a-month supporter of Iowa Catholic Radio.

Deacon Mark Campbell and Janelle, the newest member of the Iowa Catholic Radio team, host a special afternoon hour of the 2026 Fall Fundraiser, with stories from listeners and supporters about what Catholic radio means to them.
IN THIS EPISODE
- Janelle shares how Fr. John Riccardo's homilies carried her through a hard season in her career and led her to Iowa Catholic Radio, where she found his show on the air every day.
- Chris Oberreuter, CPA and owner of Divine Treasures, explains how he discerned buying the store in late 2024, took ownership on Jan. 1, 2025, and trusted his management team to run it day to day.
- Chris recalls first tuning in to Catholic Answers on his commute in 2011, and why he and his wife, Angela, support Iowa Catholic Radio personally and as a business underwriter.
- What's next at Divine Treasures: restocking after the Christ Our Life conference, gearing up for Advent and Christmas, a new blog, and future events like summer story time.
- Ann Charlson, a Johnston High School teacher raised Lutheran, describes a faith journey that has been "on the move" for the past decade.
- Ann remembers visiting the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend while working in radio in Algona, then finding comfort watching Mother Angelica on Catholic TV while living in New Jersey.
