David DiCerto, Director of Content Strategy at Castletown Media, joins Deacon Mark Campbell to talk about his path into Catholic filmmaking and the saint at the center of Castletown's documentary Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality. Born in London and raised in Milan, Carlo died of leukemia at 15 and was canonized by Pope Leo XIV as the Church's first millennial saint. Pope Francis called him "God's influencer." David explains that Carlo used websites and technology to lead people offline and toward the Eucharist.
The film blends Carlo's biography with interviews featuring voices like Chris Stefanick and Carlo's mother, Antonia Salzano Acutis. It also follows a group of North Dakota Catholic high school students who leave their phones behind for a pilgrimage to Carlo's tomb. David shares that months later, many of those students still hadn't returned to their old habits with technology.
